Honestly I have never even written a single review my entire life. Not exaggerating. I just felt that I should write this one. Our check in time was 11:30AM and we got to the doors at 11:17AM. We were given very little information and we were told to watch a video a check in on the laptops, which we did and that was fine. Then we were told to wait. So we waited. and waited. and waited. and waited. We kept asking what our time was going to be and all we got was "just wait and the instructors will call your name." So we waited some more and 3:00 comes around and just after we had asked them about the estimated time we would go up because of prior commitments they announce immediately before our group was planned to go up. ANY kind of warning of this happening would have been helpful but we had absolutely nothing as far as a disclaimer went. Also for some reason we were put on with a group that had showed up well over an hour after us. Otherwise we would have been able to go up with the group that we had checked in with. Other than receiving very little information, waiting for 5 hours, and not actually skydiving it was a great experience. Definitely recommend against Skydive Hawaii. If you go to H Tours Hawaii and select Skydive in North Shore they have the option to go for 150$ which is Skydive Hawaii´s price but only if you are a student. So there is a cheaper option if you would like.
Amazing! They lost my reservation the first time ,possible due to me booking on 'H tour hawaii' but they got me on the next round. Was nervous excited at first, terrified on the way up, on the verge of pooping my pants when they opened the door, and pure awesomeness once out. Not as terrifying as you'd think and definitely not as harsh as a roller coaster. Jim kept me distracted and made me feel secure. Great experience!
Just finished our skydive, and it was absolutely amazing. We were in and out within an hour! Check in early because of paperwork but otherwise amazing experience. Tandem instructors made us feel so comfortable and were so easy going and chill. We live in Hawaii, and all I have to say is its a must do if you're from here.
The place is a bit expensive but it is definitely worth it. The staff is very chill (perhaps too chill for some people) and make the general atmosphere relaxing. The scenery is very nice, and you get an online discount if you book online. On top of that, you get a student discount if you present your student ID. My brother forgot his student ID but the staff is nice enough to apply student discount to both of us.
My first skydiving experience was successful due to the part of the staff. For starters, I am still alive. More importantly, went in with no expectations and came out with more than I imagined. Flying up into the sky, feeling the temperature get cold real fast, I was thrilled. Could not wait to jump out! Who I was Tandem with, Elio, got us up 3Gs coming down. What an experience! Will be doing a lot more of skydiving in the future. When I do come back Hawaii, I will definitely be doing this again!!
In a sense I recommend the video package. I know it is as expensive as another dive, but theres actually a staff member diving WITH YOU to take pictures. Usually its just the diver themselves hold the GoPro but having another staff dive with you to take aero pictures and videos is very nice, especially with the scenery.
You get to do a lot when diving. You get to control your own spin as you free fall. You actually get to control the parachute after it deploys to do some crazy maneuvers. You get like 35 seconds of free fall which feels like a lifetime when you are in such a life threatening condition. Certainly better than roller coasters.
