Day passes are required and can be acquired at the state offices in downtown Honolulu. Overnight camping permits are available online through the state website as well in which you can pay online and download the camping permits.
Great Camp Site for family and friends. Takes a good drive to get to the site from the access point near the federal satellite tracking station entrance at Yokohama Beach (approx. 8 Mi West of the campground) and also a good 4x4 is recommended. If raining, it's nearly impossible with a 2wd vehicle...
The Camp Site consists of 2 main areas (Camp site A and B) 3 camping positions per site which can allow up to 7 persons/vehicles per position.
This long walk was nice and quiet. I hiked up from the windward side.
